On either Mac or Windows, removing or uninstalling the ColorThink 4 application will not normally affect your serialization, preferences, or various data files. They are all stored outside the application’s folder as of version 4.0
on Mac:
If you have multiple copies of ColorThink 4 installed on your computer, the macOS may not know which version to open when a colorthink:// Quicklink is clicked. macOS does not have any interface to explicitly select the copy you want launched. We recommend compressing versions into .zip files that you don’t want launched and trashing the uncompressed applications. Then the OS is left with only one copy to launch.
on Windows:
When re-installing ColorThink on Windows, uninstall the currently-installed copy first, then install the new one. ColorThink’s installer updates the Windows Registry, ensuring Quicklinks and associated document types point to the correct application path.
If you have ColorThink 4 installed and Windows doesn’t launch it when a colorthink:// Quicklink is clicked, you should probably uninstall & reinstall the application.
