Maxwell Services

Activating and Using MeasureWatch Verify

Register your Instrument

Instruments are registered with Maxwell automatically upon first connection

  • Install, launch and sign into the Maxwell Client

  • Connect your instrument to the computer

  • Select the instrument in the left sidebar and click the Connect button

The Client will register the instrument with Maxwell

Activate the MeasureWatch Verify service

Contact CHROMiX support with the name of the instrument and the order number on which you purchased the MeasureWatch Verify service.

We’ll activate the service and set up the color reference’s color aim as well as an appropriate reference set and a track into which you’ll take verification measurements

Verifying Your Instrument

  • Launch the Maxwell Client and connect to the instrument. The Client should sense the changes and enable the color instrument for MeasureWatch Verify. It will appear with the MeasureWatch Verify “target” icon in the sidebar.

  • If for any reason it doesn't enable the service, try disconnecting the instrument and then select Clear Cache from the Advanced menu, then re-connect the instrument.

(by connect we mean select the instrument in the sidebar and then the Connect button)

You'll also need the ColoREF CRM target reference copied into the instrument’s target definition file location.

To verify, select the instrument in the sidebar and click the “MeasureWatch Verify” button in the instrument’s pane. Then follow the normal measurement process to measure your color reference.

Instrument record ownership in Maxwell:

The first time Maxwell “sees” your instrument it’s automatically registered with its own Device record into which the instrument’s brand, model, and serial number are recorded. This Device is owned by the default account of whichever account is signed into the Maxwell Client at the time (which is typically a facility account).

Upon connecting the instrument to any copy of Maxwell Client, the instrument’s serial number will be looked up to see if it’s been registered. If it has been registered but the owning account has not granted the rights to see it, the Client will not register a duplicate device in Maxwell and will link measurements to the instrument’s device ID.

Contact us directly if you want an account that’s using an instrument to have access to its Maxwell device record.
