Admin & Operator Modes

By default the Maxwell Client is in “Admin” mode, where all functions are visible and available for use.

Operator Mode

For some companies it is useful to have a streamlined workflow. The Maxwell Client can be placed into “Operator” mode so that only the elements necessary for measuring into the Tracks are visible. A typical user might be a press operator who needs to upload a proofing target every day in order to verify that proofs are in compliance. In this scenario, the operator does need or want access to the configuration screens in the Maxwell Client, but would benefit from a quick interface that allows him to identify himself, the job number and the time the measurement was made.

It is possible to "lock" the Client into either Operator mode or Administrative mode.

Custom fields

If desired, Maxwell can require certain fields be answered or offered before measuring new targets. The data inputted can be added to a database in Maxwell. Contact CHROMiX for options for custom fields.

To Lock

To lock the user interface on either Admin or Operator:

• Click the lock icon on the bottom left corner of the window

• Enter a password to be used in the future to unlock this function

• Click the "Lock" button

• Enter the password again to confirm

• Click the "Lock" button

This pane will now be locked in this configuration until the user clicks the lock icon and enters the password.

Hint: Right-clicking on the OPEN lock icon will allow the user to reset the password. Note that the lock needs to be opened first in order for the password to be reset.
